We are currently planning to develop two new productions and are inviting submissions from filmmakers, writers, directors and producers with a project or idea they would like to bring to life.

At Unusual Crowd, we work closely with artists from early development through to production, shaping projects through discussion, experimentation, and a shared commitment to getting the detail right.

We prioritise work that is intentional and considered, where creative choices are purposeful, performances feel truthful, and the final piece connects with audiences in a lasting way.

We are particularly drawn to projects that invite audiences to engage more deeply — work that evokes feeling, holds complexity, and resists easy answers.

We are interested in stories that reflect the world as it is now: contemporary, questioning, and alive to the tensions shaping society today. This might mean work that explores social, political or personal themes, but always through a human lens, with nuance and care.

We favour projects that trust their audience , that create space for reflection, ambiguity, and perspective. Work that doesn’t tell people what to think, but instead encourages them to look again, and think again. We want audiences to leave with something that lingers — a feeling or question that stays with them and continues to unfold long after the work has ended.
